The public space of the port of Veselí nad Moravou is currently undergoing revitalization, and the aim is to connect and activate the leisure axis leading from the city center towards the corridor of the Baťa canal.
The reconstruction proposal responds to this revitalization, and through four phases, transforms the existing mass into an object that opens in all directions on the ground floor and thus communicates fluently with the surrounding exterior and the unique landscape near the navigation canal. Its functionality is also undergoing a change, and although it retains its typology, the building is divided into a total of four levels of prominence, from private events to a service window serving passing cyclists.
The aesthetic of the building is based on arched openings in the ground floor, which both strengthens the tectonics of the building itself, but also offer intimate nooks combined with grandiose views to the exterior. The materialization then combines the organically colored earthy surface of the “supporting base” of the ground floor with a light wooden floor structure. The roof is designed as a walkable space and thus complements the portfolio of spaces offered by the operation. It’s equipped along the edge with organically shaped flower beds, which serve as rainwater retention, cool the roof space in summer and complete the aesthetics of the terrace.
The total mass is installed in the space so that its fragmentation corresponds as closely as possible to the surrounding scale and the building does not come into conflict with its surroundings.

Veřejný prostor přístavu Veselí nad Moravou prochází v těchto dnech revitalizací. Cílem je propojit a aktivovat volnočasovou osu vedoucí z centra města směrem ke koridoru Baťova kanálu.
Návrh přestavby reaguje na tuto revitalizaci a během čtyř fází transformuje stávající hmotu na objekt, který se v parteru otevírá do všech stran a plynně tak komunikuje s okolním exteriérem a jedinečnou krajinou v blízkosti plavebního kanálu. Také jeho funkčnost prochází obměnou a ačkoli si zachovává svou typologii, objekt je členěn celkem na čtyři úrovně prominence a to od soukromých akcí, až po výdejové okénko obsluhující projíždějící cyklisty.
Estetika budovy se odvíjí od klenutých otvorů v parteru, které posilují jednak tektoniku budovy samotné, ale zároveň nabízí intimní zákoutí spojené s grandiózními průhledy do exteriéru. Materializace pak kombinuje organicky probarvený zemitý povrch “nosné základny” parteru s lehkou dřevěnou konstrukcí patra. Střecha je řešena jako pochozí a doplňuje tak portfolio prostor nabízených provozem. Střecha je po okraji vybavena organicky tvarovanými záhony, které slouží jako retence dešťové vody, ochlazují prostor střechy v létě a dotváří estetiku terasy.
Celková hmota je do prostoru osazena tak, aby její fragmentace co nejlépe odpovídala okolnímu měřítku a budova se nedostávala do konfliktu se svým okolím.
