We call Social Reactors places that create the conditions for people, activities and communities to meet. Through programme, access and shared space, architecture can set things in motion beyond the building itself.
The idea began with The Distillery and continues across projects of very different scales — from buildings and neighbourhoods to temporary interventions in public space.
(01)
The Distillery
The Distillery was our first Social Reactor. An abandoned industrial building became a shared platform for work, culture, education and events. Different programmes and communities could overlap, bringing activity back to the building and gradually creating a new destination in the city.

KUMST
KUMST brings Brno’s creative community under one roof. Workspaces, events, education and business support sit alongside informal shared spaces, creating opportunities for people from different disciplines to meet, exchange ideas and start new collaborations.

(03)
DADA Distrikt
DADA mixes housing, workspaces and commercial uses within one building. Shared spaces and different daily routines bring residents, workers and visitors into contact, creating a small piece of city where living, working and community life naturally overlap.

(04)
Air Square
AIR SQUARE creates a place to gather where there was previously little reason to stop. Its temporary structure brings shade, seating, events and visibility to overlooked urban spaces, testing how a simple intervention can quickly change the way a place is used.

(05)
Brno Design Days
Brno Design Days uses temporary architecture to bring people and programme together for a limited period of time. Talks, installations, exhibitions and events turn each host space into an intense meeting point, showing how activity itself can become a tool for activating a place.

Hasička Mikulov
Hasička brings culture, creative work, events and local initiatives into a familiar civic building in Mikulov. The mix of uses gives different groups reasons to share the same place, creating a new meeting point for everyday community life.
